Proposals Engineer

Proposals Engineer-Due to growth and expansion this is a unique opportunity for a proposals engineer to join a leading System Integration company specialist in design and EPC project business for predominantly oil and gas, petrochemical, Power & energy, water and government sectors.

-Ideally from a proposals/sales engineering background with an understanding of business cycle process

-Knowledge of Commercial/Technical review processes.

-AutoCAD experience and 3D SolidW0rks would be advantageous but is not essential.

-Experience of the Oil and Gas market sector and a good understanding of the related specifications and documentation associated with the Oil Companies (OCs] and Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) experience is required.

Roles & Responsibilities

The primary roles and responsibilities of the Proposals Engineer include:

-Receiving and reviewing Requests for Quotation (RFQ's) & identifying the compliant solution

-Determining an appropriate technical solution and work closely with in-house engineers to offer a solution.

-Obtaining costs of materials, consumables, sub-contract work etc. necessary to prepare quotations.

-Work with in-house engineers and designers to develop and quote cost effective solutions.

-All in-house co-ordination for preparation of bid including follow-up, collection of input from

Various sub-contractors or 3rd party.

-Work with our sales team to professionally represent the company at a customer, gather data, and ask the right questions to define a project.

-Preparing quotations in accordance to the specified requirements, documentation and company polices.

-Ensure that Clients pricing and technical tender schedules are complete and accurate.

-When requested, carry out peer review of estimates compiled by others, checking for

Completeness, pricing accuracy and adequate manning and resource requirements

Involvement in the negotiation with coordination of line manager

-Assisting in after sales service where necessary to develop and maintain good customer service.

-Actively seeking sales and marketing opportunities where possible.

-Representing the company and visiting customers when required for bid clarifications etc.

-Carrying out such additional duties as may become necessary from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the sales operation.

-Work with our sales team to professionally represent the company at a customer, gather data, and ask the right questions to define a project.

-Develop value-added propositions and proposal writing.

-Additional duties may be assigned, as required.

Basic Qualifications

A Bachelors Degree in Telecommunication or Electrical engineering or Equivalent

-Technical aptitude is required candidates must be proficient with the usage of MS-Office, Visio and basic CAD.

-Familiarity with communication & control systems (LAN, SCS, OSP, TETRA, PAGA, DCS/SCADA/PLC), high volume manufacturing solution cycle.

-Strong Technical Writing Skills

-Past experience of similar nature in oil & gas Contracting Organization in EPCI and T&I business

-Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

General Requirement

-You must have excellent sales, negotiation, communication and people skills. Must have a track record of preparing and presenting detailed proposals.

-You must have the ability to help define and successfully execute a sales and proposals strategy.

-You must be computer literate with familiarization of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Autocad or 3D SolidWorks would also be an advantage.

-Highly organized, excellent problem solver, strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multi-task.

-Minimum of five (5) years in O & G industry with several years in sales or project management

-Must be proficient for Management of database for vendors/ supplier/ subcontractor
