Job Description

Education: Associate's degree in restaurant management.


Assist the Restaurant Manager & Head Waiter and lead all Captain(s) in developing better understanding and good will with the customers. Provide highest possible level of service to achieve highest customer satisfaction.

1. Develop understanding and good will with the guests. Providing highest possible level of service to achieve highest guest satisfaction.

2. Greeting and seating all Restaurants customers and escorting guests up to the table and presenting menus.

3. Ensure that customer is given efficient personalized service according to their choice.

4. Presenting comments cards to the guest and collecting customer’s feedback on F & B Service.

5. Ensure immediate action on customer complaints both to the satisfaction of the customer and the protection of the restaurant, before the customer leaves the Restaurant.

6. Ensure maintenance of log book for the purpose of recording and disseminating pertinent information and instructions to all concerned.

7. Set a personal example for the associates by consistent and impartial behavior in all personnel matters, including discipline through respect.

8. Perform any other function as may be assigned by the management.

9. Provide necessary feedback on all important activities to the Restaurant Manager/General Manager.

10. Abide by the policies, rules and regulations of the restaurant on various issues/matters and Shakespeare and Co’s Standard Operating Procedures.

11. Check personal hygiene and be well groomed in appearance by wearing a smart, clean and tidy dress with a name tag.


1. Reports to work in prescribed uniform and well-groomed.

2. Reports to the Restaurant Manager at the start of shift to receive necessary instructions for the shift.

3. Greets and escorts guests into the outlet.

4. Collaborates with hostess in seating guests in appropriate tables.

5. Capable of answering and providing accurate information to the guest concerning the restaurant, its products and services.

6. Presents menu to the guest.

7. Knowledgeable of all food and beverage items in the menu, special menu items or items on promotion, the ingredients, method of preparation, portion and presentation.

8. Takes orders of the guest if required accurately and re-confirms guest’s orders each time.

9. Practices suggestive selling to boost restaurant sales.

10. Performs sequence of service in the outlet.

11. Confirms satisfaction with the guest, and provides satisfactory resolution in regards to guest complaints.

12. Capable of operating all equipment in the outlet.

13. Capable of handling guest complains professionally.

14. Capable of operating the POS (point of sale) system with speed and proficiency
