Enterprise Infrastructure & Applications monitoring engineer

Job Description
Principal accountabilities / responsibilities of the Enterprise Monitoring Consultant:

1. Providing professional support and services for a range of Enterprise monitoring solutions.
2. Helps customer to realize the vision of end-to-end monitoring of all applications using latest APM tools as well as enhance performance and availability monitoring.

3. Works on Capacity Planning and Optimization tools which helps to plan for future growth.

4. Helps production/solution support teams as well as business teams receive timely notifications of infrastructure/network and application related production issues instantly to ensure maximum uptime and enhance availability which in turns improves customer satisfaction and RB reputation.

5. Installs, configure, administer, upgrade and troubleshoot various monitoring solutions 
6. Extensive experience on Event management solutions like BMC BEM/TrueSight which is the centralized event manager.

7. Extensively working on APM (Application Performance Monitoring) solutions from BMC and Dynatrace like Dynatrace AppMon (agent based) and Dynatrace DCRUM (network sniffer based), BMC EUEM etc. for fault domain isolation and code level transaction monitoring and provide analysis of production issues using the tools.

8. Manage the fully automated monitoring and notifications through email, SMS, Phone & ticketing using a range of tools from BMC and xMatters.

9. Developing custom solutions using scripting language to cater to specific monitoring requirements of the bank that are not available out- of- the- box in the monitoring tools.

10. Works on multiple monitoring solutions across heterogeneous domains like infrastructure monitoring like servers, MQ, Databases etc. using BMC, network monitoring (Solarwinds & Riverbed) & desktop monitoring (NexThink).

11. Experience in dash boarding tool named iDashboard for creating reports and dashboards.

12. Works on synthetic monitoring tools from BMC and Dynatrace which are locally hosted as well as cloud based for around the globe monitoring of websites.

13. Worked on Storage monitoring solutions from NetApp (OCI) and EMC (SRM ViPR) and integrate with event manager.

14. Integrating various other tools like Oracle Grid (OEM), Custom MQ Monitoring solutions etc. using scripts and SNMP with central event management solution for automated notifications.

15. Discovering all customer's assets like servers, software, network devices, Mainframe and storage assets and licenses using Discovery tool ADDM and integrating it with CMDB.

16. Integration of all different tools like Dynatrace APM, SolarWinds/RiverBed, NexThink, Mainview (Mainframe Monitoring), EMC SRM/NetApp OCI, Remedy as well as non-IT related products with BMC event manager.

17. Analytical, problem solving, planning and organizational skills which helps in deploying and troubleshooting various monitoring solutions.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT engineering or equivalent.

2. 6-8 years of relevant experience in Enterprise Infrastructure and Application Monitoring, preferably with a large organization in the financial sector

3. Strong UNIX administration skills - Solaris and/or AIX experience required.

4. Strong knowledge of APM (Application Performance Monitoring) solutions from BMC and Dynatrace like Dynatrace AppMon (agent based) and Dynatrace DCRUM (network sniffer based), BMC EUEM etc.

5. Candidate MUST have extensive experience working within structured change management processes for highly available enterprise database systems.

6. Experience with Enterprise monitoring and management frameworks (BMC patrol.)

7. Networking experience {TCP/IP, Database Connectivity (JDBC, ODBC, etc.)} in Java to database connectivity environments required.

8. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

9. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, conducive to team development.
