The Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Power plant. Shift Supervisor is a Lead of
Power Plant Operation staff ( Control Room Operator, Electrical Engineer Operation, Mechanical Engineer Operation, Control & Automation Engineer Operation).
Ensures that all work is carried out in line with the relevant HSE Policies, Permit to Work System and that the Environmental
Standards are being adhered to.
Follows and ensures staff follows standard safety procedures, corrects safety and environmental hazards.
Shift Supervisor is a Zone Authority on the GTPP area according to the GPNB PTW Procedure requirements and
statements. Responsible for the enforcement and administration of the lockout/tagout system, confined space entry program,
and welding and cutting permits.
Responsible for complete operation activities of the Power Plant
including, but not limited to, directing operations of shift staff for compliance with instructions from the client, operation routines, switching operations, planning and conducting, tests, monitoring of equipment operating trends and taking initiative to prevent equipment trips and damage.
Oversee the Power Generation and distribution Systems in line with Power Demand from the Consumers (Plant and External)
Provides guidance as required to others to assist in resolving
complex operational issues and to ensure personnel are properly trained and qualified
With limited supervision, oversees and operates the plant processes and electrical distribution systems through plant distributive control system (DCS) and other process control
Participates in daily maintenance requirements, plant configuration changes, and ensures production levels are met
Reviews logsheets and permits to ensure adherence to known
operating envelopes and regulatory compliance. Initiates connective actions for items that are not operating within known parameters or guidelines.
Responsible for preparation and submitting of daily Operation reports and keeping logsheets by Operation staff.
Prepare and submit equipment failure and investigation Reports
Take a leader ship role in case of abnormal or emergency
Supervises the work of a subordinate team engaged in the generation and distribution of power. This includes assisting
employees in the performance of duties
Conduct surveys and study maps, graphs, diagrams and other
data to identify and correct power system problems. Monitor power plant equipment and indicators in order to assess existing equipment operating status.
Anticipates typical problems, identifies potential or recurring problems, and takes appropriate action. Troubleshoot
equipment and assists in diagnosing problem areas
Ensures problems are properly documented in the plant's
computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Supports implementation of Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP), including Campaign programs, in order to ensure Integrity, Safe and Reliable Operation and maximum availability of power for the facilities
Develops, reviews, and maintains procedures, P&IDs and electrical one-lines
On request take Part in Meetings related to the Management of
Change Process (MOC)
Organize and take a leader role in Root Cause Analysis studies as required (5Why; Apollo).
