Role Statement
Managing and maintaining the entire Documentation process of Corporate and Commercial Banking, SMEs and ensuring compliance with appropriate legal, statutory and bank policies and procedures with the objective of providing operational integrity and a high standard of internal customer service.
Key Objectives
1. Preparation of offer letters and other legal documents, which are legally valid and enforceable for Corporate and SME customers.
2. Checking the draft of Syndication Deal documents where Bank is acting as Agent and taking care of recovery of interest, commission, fees etc. as per the Facility Agreement.
3. Ensure low turnaround time for release of documentation (should be within a maximum of two business days after all required conditions are fulfilled).
4. Check the covenants, address and, if necessary, escalate as appropriate for resolution
5. Ensure that there are no repeat comments in internal/external/CBO audit reports and assist the Head of Risk in maintaining at least a satisfactory audit report.
6. Maintain a high motivation and take care of training of support staff.
7. Support in valuation of mortgages portfolio and related data.
8. Undertake or assist in special projects, review of panel of valuers, auditors, legal counsel etc, revision of Credit Procedure Manual, helping Head of Risk in special tasks etc.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Ensure that only those facilities are released which have been approved by proper authority and all documentation and conditions have been met with as per approval.
2. Ensure that mortgage/pledge of shares creation process is complied with in interests of the Bank and turnaround time is reasonable and triggers as and when necessary needs to be generated to the BU.
3. Avoid repeat comments from auditors and assist the Deputy Head of Risk in maintaining at least a satisfactory audit report.
4. Co-ordinate with other functional heads for smooth operations of the department, in the absence of head of credit administration.
5. Train & guide subordinates in carrying out their allotted responsibilities.
6. Help to develop adequate internal MIS (daily, weekly, monthly reports on limit & document exceptions, past due reports etc.) with help from IT department.
7. To assist Deputy Head of Risk in co-ordination of various audit processes including CBO/External Audit functions.
8. Support in process review, automation and process improvement initiatives
9. Review and upgrade the RCU procedure manual/valuation related policy and processes/empanelment etc on an ongoing basis and at least once annually.
Person Specifications
1. Minimum education level / discipline: Post graduate
2. Mandatory professional qualifications / licenses: Professional Qualification like CA / MBA.
3. Required experience in terms of region/industry/business/function/role: Minimum 15 years experience in the banking sector, with 5 years at senior management level.
