Job Description
Purpose of the Job (Main Objective):

-To develop and maintain an independent Internal Audit function that promotes high standards of business control, risk management and corporate governance through effective, independent and objective internal audit activities

-Deliverables / Key Responsibilities:

-Primary Responsibilities

-Develops the Internal Audit strategies, and annual audit master plans to deliver on the Board’s mandates related to effective business control, risk management and corporate governance

-Develops the audit charter, code of ethics and requisite audit policies (for financial/ operational/ process/ performance audits), in alignment with Internal Audit standards and statutory requirements

-Develops the strategic plan for the function and guides the development of the plan for the reporting Auditors, in line with the overall BoD priorities

-Develops, cascades and monitors goals and key metrics for reporting Auditors

-Evaluates the operations, policies, practices, governance and control framework of the organization in undertaking its business responsibilities and fulfilling its mandates, and makes recommendations for improvement based on audit findings.

-Guides and develop Internal audit reports, setting standards and guidelines for Internal Audit Work and Reporting and ensuring adherence to the same

-Ensures smooth coordination and alignment between reporting Auditors

-Oversees and provides guidance to Auditors in conducting various audits as per plan, with a view to monitor compliance with the requisite statutory requirements, guidelines and policies across functions and processes

-Presents audit findings to the Board of Directors or the Board Committees

-Secondary Responsibilities

-Manages the performance of direct reports through clarifying performance objectives/ KPIs, monitoring progress and providing feedback on an ongoing basis

-Provides coaching along with development inputs and opportunities to direct reports in order to build their skills towards improving their performance as well as potential

-Perform other responsibilities and tasks as directed by the Board of Directors or any of the Board Committees in order to meet organizational objectives
