The main purpose of the job is to perform tests on routine basis for raw materials, intermediates and finished products and for generating analysis reports, identifying deviation from standards and conducting further analysis to identify deviation sources, to ensure the daily proceeding of laboratory needs.
The incumbent is mainly accountable for the following responsibilities:
-Follow all relevant Quality Assurance procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
-Ensure that all samples are received and registered as per the procedures of categorization in the company.
-Ensure all received samples are adequate for analysis and are stored in the correct conditions to prevent distortion of results.
-Perform analysis on the received samples as per standard analysis process, and conduct more complex analysis if needed to identify deviation sources.
-Generate different types of analysis reports and gives professional opinion on the analysis including deviation from standards and possible deviation reasons.
-Escalate issues and major deviation samples to the chemists and senior chemists.
-Keep all testing equipment in proper operating condition to prevent distortion of results.
-Assist in preparing guidelines and work instructions for test methods to establish standard test procedures.
-Assist in the development of junior staff through the provision of coaching and contributing to the development planning.
-Plan, organize and prioritize own work to ensure efficiency and work is completed within set deadlines.
-Enter & approve all analytical results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) timely and accurately so that user departments receive timely feedback.
-Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate reports for Department in order to meet Department requirements, policies and standards.
-Comply with all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
-Participate in safety programs and work permit system to determine their adequacy
-Participate in incident investigation and provide technical information as required for process, injuries etc.
-Participate in safety, health and environmental programs.
-Participate in emergency response drills at the company and familiarize HSSE strategy.
-Perform other related duties or assignments as directed by the Lab Supervisor.
-English: Good in Speaking, Listening, Reading, & Writing
-Arabic: Added advantage.
Academic and professional qualifications:
-B.Sc. Chemistry/Diploma in Lab Technology
-Should have around 6 to 8 years’ experience as Lab Technician.
