Job Description
The laboratory technician is responsible for laboratory-based tasks, which include sampling, testing, measuring, recording and analysing results in biological, chemical and physical tests. And provide all the required technical support to enable the laboratory to function effectively, Following the correct procedures and health and safety guidelines.

 Preparation of all tools , samples, chemicals, medias and equipments for the analysis.

 Conducting testing on a wide variety of samples (finished product, raw materials, water, environmental sampling etc.) according to testing schedule: Microbiological, chemical and physical tests

 Carrying out routine tasks accurately

 Ensuring the laboratory is well stocked and resourced

 Maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment

 Following strict safety procedures and safety checks

 Keeping up to date with technical developments

 Recording all microbiological, chemical and physical analysis results

 Completing required reports and documentation

 Keep all equipment and glassware in the laboratory sterilized and ready to use .

 Maintain the lab washing area including the sterilization of garbage.

 Sterilization the required media and glassware.

 Ensure the cleaning program in the laboratory is well implemented.

 Using computer to up date all records.

 Ensures the accuracy and completeness of the analysis results..

 Understand manufacturing risks with relation to Food Safety issues.

 Ensure the Companies Policies and statements are applied continuously and that the company’s statements and policies are continually reviewed and amended to avoid breach of any local or statutory legislation.

 Ensure keep all records and the documentation of technical issues

 Make recommendations for improvements to the current operation from the technical aspect and with a view to improved efficiencies

 Attend to your duties at times specified by your line manager or dictated by work levels

 Accept that this job description is not exhaustive and that it may be necessary with consultation, to amend/change details from time to time

 Continuous follow up of the responsibilities to achieve the best results

Requirements: Minimum 1 year related work experience in quality control and/or laboratory within a food manufacturing environment is essential.

Education: BS in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology or Chemistry, Food Safety, Food Hygiene including HACCP.

Reports to: Quality Assurance Microbiologist Supervisor
