Managing Director

Company:

Our client helps accelerate the growth of startups in Bahrain and provide a steady pipeline to the rapidly growing Bahraini venture capital industry.


Job Title: Managing Director

1. General & Operations

-Develop, drive and implement the business strategy goals of Bahrain startup accelerator

-Establish effective project management and monitoring mechanisms and ensure timely delivery of projects.

-Report accelerator's and overall company's progress to the board and the company central team.

-Oversee the accelerator program finances and ensure high quality financial management of company's assets and budgets.

-Create annual operating plans that support strategic direction set by the board and the company Central team

2. HR & Team Management

-Responsible for recruiting and effectively managing the startup accelerator's stage

-Manage the human resources of the company according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current local laws and regulations.

-Work closely with different staff members and ensure they are highly motivated and continuously incentivized.

-Train the accelerator's staff members and ensure they are well-oriented on the company process .

-Ensure that accelerator's staff members have sufficient and up-to-date information.

3. Startup Selection

-Initiate and perform the startup selection process to select candidate startups to join each cycle of the accelerator program.

-Work with the startup accelerator's team to launch the application for each new cycle of the accelerator program and make sure it is advertised and publicized properly.

-Coordinate with the staff members the application filtration and interviews scheduling process

-Conduct due diligence, negotiating and managing investment agreements with applicant startups when required

4. Accelerator Program

-Coordinate with the accelerator's team to put the calendar of each of the cycles of the accelerator program

-Oversee the business training provided to the startups and coordinate with educational partners.

-Supervise the mentorship process and assist in recruiting mentors for the accelerator program.

-Help set the goals and milestones for the incubated startup companies and follow up on the progress with respective startup teams.


5. Partners and Business Development

-Identify partnership opportunities and provide oversight on establishing local and international partnerships

-Act as a liaison between the startup accelerator and the local startup community, as well as build relationships with peer organizations, government and corporates when appropriate.


6. Marketing, Communication and PR

-Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative for the startup accelerator.

-Coordinate and oversee PR events, press releases and official announcements arranged by the startup accelerator.


Qualifications & Experience

-At least 7 years of experience in entrepreneurship, private equity, technology and/or business management.

-Fluent in English and Arabic is a plus.

-Major in business/management studies

-Strong project management and organizational skills.

-Proactive and highly organized, with strong time management and planning skills.

-Attention to detail and a ability to multi-task

-Excellent communication skills.

-Well-connected with the local business and investor community in Bahrain

-Engaged in the local startup community and its activities.

-Candidate should be based in Bahrain
