Manager is responsible for the effective running and operations of the Nursery.
They must lead, inspire and motivate their team.
Be the face of the Nursery.
Ensure all welfare requirements are met and maintained to the correct standards.
Implement the Management office files and ensure they remain updated.
Be responsible for the smooth running of the Nursery on a day to day basis, adhering to all the nursery policies and procedures at all times.
Develop open and positive working relationships with your team members and manage them fairly.
Responsible for and oversee the day to day management, staffing, organization and smooth running of the Nursery.
Ensure you are present during key times of the day to meet and greet the parents and deal with any queries.
Ensure the EYFS is promoted and delivered within the setting and the principles adhered to.
Ensure morning and afternoon walk round checks are done to maintain our standards and check the staff child ratios.
Accountable and responsible for day to day financial systems directly relating to the Nursery provision.
Build good working relationships at every level. You must be approachable, friendly and be able to communicate effectively to build the relationships with parents and your staffing team.
Do effective show rounds keeping in mind that you are representing the Nursery, and follow up to assist the potential clients further with any questions.
Actively promote your Nursery and participate/ initiate marketing activities.
Control all nursery costs in line with budgets.
Maintain the records of all the children attending the nursery with support from the Administrator.
Carry out monthly risk assessments.
Support your team in delivering high standard learning environments by allowing them to attend training courses etc.
Spend time in the classrooms interacting with the children, observing the team members.
Organize and hold monthly staff meetings and termly training meetings.
Carry out daily fire checks and H&S checks and also carry out at least one fire drill every month.
Observe your team members and give feedback to your teams on their performance.
Ensure regular and effective communication with your parents (face to face , emails) to create a good parents as partners atmosphere within your nursery.
Plan trips related to the activities/ topics keeping in mind the security of the children.
Handle all complaints from parents effectively to ensure that the outcome to be achieved is to resolve the matter and move onward positively and in partnership with one another.
To undertake any duties set to you by the Management Team that will assist in the day to day running of the nursery.
University degree in Early Childhood/ Education, or other specialization provided that it is accompanied by a certified professional certificate in Early Childhood Leadership (Level 5).
Practical experience in Early childhood or education for at least two years with sufficient knowledge of the administrative aspects, knowledge of the curriculum and policies and procedures related to the care and protection of children.
