The Planning Engineer (Roads & Infrastructure Supervision) is to support the Project Managers/Resident Engineer on all scheduling and budget preparations through the effective collaboration and coordination with various disciplines to obtain relevant information.
Prepare and update project time schedule based on information received from disciplines involved in the project
Prepare and update project budget plan based on estimated man hours and resources categories for each stage of the design.
Monitor man hours and project progress based on the actual percentage of weekly work progress that is received from Departments. Investigate reasons for delay and liaise between Senior Project Engineer and Project Manager.
Prepare the proposed work program for projects at the proposal stage.
Prepare Project Close Report and maintain all project history documents (contract review records, work program, design verification records, correspondences, minutes of meeting, progress reports, budget status, etc) for future reference.
Attend progress meetings and present project progress reports to the client.
Planning Engineers rely on information received from the Senior Project Engineers of various disciplines to prepare most of the reports required from them. Thus, a significant amount of coordination is required to ensure that the correct information is received on time.
Working past regular working hours may be required to meet project deadlines. Some travel within or outside the country to meet with clients. Planning Engineers communicate most of their time with employees from other disciplines, using email or telephone or face to face communication.
For administrative issues, technical issues and performance evaluation, the Planning Engineer reports to the Planning Section Manager.
