Job Description
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working closely with the sales team on proposals and pitches for business.

• Attending meetings with business development managers and acting as a technical expert.

• Putting together business cases for the sales teams to support their proposals.

• Working closely and collaboratively with customers to devise effective solutions.

• Ensuring that the company’s product can deliver on the customer’s requirements.

• Working closely with customers to understand and capture requirements.

• Replying to customers following requests for information and proposal requests.

• Presenting proposals to customers alongside members of the sales team.

• Providing ongoing support for customers post implementation.

• producing detailed costings for customers and ensuring the contract is profitable.

• Technical qualification of opportunities and understanding the business/technical requirements of the client

• Handle all technical aspects of RFI/RFP

• Liaison with Product Management to provide product feedback

• Able to help qualifying a sales opportunity

• Assisting sales people in the qualification of customer needs and performing pre demo needs analysis.

• Be able to position our products against the competition

• Developing product centric selling strategies

• Monitoring and managing the technical pre‐sales environments

• Developing draft MS project plans for implementation consulting along with any key risks and issues and their mitigation

• Reports progress and issues to the Manager in a timely manner. In particular, to relay issues that might impact on quality or the ability to deliver to timescales or estimates

• Works with team on the development of standards, processes and procedures related to application security, upgrade management, capacity planning, application deployment, performance monitoring/tuning, and failover and disaster recovery.

• Confident negotiator and ability to ‘close the deal’ 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

• Previous experience working within a technical pre sales position.

• Must be a subject matter expert with extensive software systems experience.

• An ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff in a way that is easy to understand.

• Previous experience working for a competitor in a similar position would be a strong advantage.

• Review new products, compare these to existing product offerings and advise on sales strategies.

• Attend appropriate internal and external training as guided by management.

• Involved in presales activities for projects.

• Work closely with product manager to generate leads and opportunities.

• Conduct training.

• Reporting as requested by management.

• Perform any other duties required by management

• Assist at Marketing events

• Assist in creating and presenting of client specific ROI studies

• Proactively engages in the sales cycles

• Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to get things done,

issues/requirements at an application level

• Able to talk with different audiences, appropriately adjust technical content to meet different audience knowledge and interest, and can juggle meetings with multiple audience levels

• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully

• Possesses an understanding of sales methodologies and can apply them in a sales situation.

• Interacts with multiple clients to create technology specifications from the business

• Strong client management skills and ability to keep promises

• Must have good technical skills and know-how to assist in technical solution selling

• Must have Strategic Thinking, Analytical, Sales, Organizational & Collaborative Skills
