Preparation of material and equipment requests Advanced PC’s user, experience to work with numeric relays, theoretical and practical knowledge of relay protection systems, electrical power generation and distribution equipment, different types of electrical calculations, good understanding of drawings& tech. international rules and regulations ( IEC, NEMA and etc)
Testing of protective relays like distance protection, transformer differential protection, bus differential protection, overcurrent &earth fault protection with testing kits like Omicron or similar
Serve as a technical resource for day-to-day operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and safety investigations associated with protective relaying systems.
Extensive knowledge of principles and application of protective relays. This includes overcurrent relay coordination,transmission and distribution relaying, generator, transformer and motor protection.
Reading and properly interpreting GTPP drawings (e.g., single line drawings, control AC and DC schematics, panel wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings)
Prepare and submit failure event and investigation Reports
Develop protective relaying testing and commissioning plans
and execute those plans. Develop testing report and procedures.
Compile or receive detailed written Handover prior to; and completion of leave and/or field breaks
Conduct surveys and study maps, graphs, diagrams and other
data to identify and correct power system problems
Regularly review critical spares holdings. Make sure of completeness BOM into CMMS, correct min-max settings
On request take Part in Meetings related to the Management of Change Process (MOC) for the GTPP
Take Part in Root Cause Analysis studies as required
