Senior Buyer - Sports Brands

Purpose of the Role:

Individual is responsible to identify emerging trends and make appropriate brand/ product selections to complement existing range. Execute strategic buying plans for the assigned brand/category and ensures smooth buying operations through vendor identification, product evaluation and selection, in compliance with the contract principles to achieve the strategic and financial objectives of the brand/category of products

Job Description

1. Sourcing and building a balanced, commercial, and profitable range;

2. Negotiating cost prices with suppliers and identify new suppliers;

3. Analyze past sales patterns to anticipate trends in consumer buying patter;

4. Evaluating sales history and customer information together with trends to develop a strategy and consider ratios, Silhouettes, gender and pallets in sales review;

5. Visit Trade shows and regularly review competitor pricing and brands/ strategy;

6. Prepare new brand submission details for approval and provide inputs for an accurate OTB;

7. Work with support team, inventory team, warehouse team, retail store as and when require;

8. Review SOH, sell thru, fill rate, replenishment cycle, stock projections, forecast, opening stock, closing stock, forward cover;

9. Work with marketing to develop promotions and campaign launches.

Job Specification:

Bachelor Degree with 5-10 years of experience in retail industry of which minimum 3 -4 years in branded sports wears purchasing business segments. 


-Strong organizational, communication, logical reasoning and time management skills.

-Result oriented and customer focused personality with good analytical skills.

-Basic project management skills and business sense.

-Ability to establish workload priorities and balance diverse tasks.

-Excellent competencies with MS Office tools.
