Role Statement Supports the Audit function in completing any special assignment assigned to IAD by the Audit Committee. Assists Internal Audit function in risk-assessment based audit planning. Conducts business and operational audits and ad-hoc reviews as directed. Key Objectives Manage effectively the completion of audits as per the audit plan. Supports the Audit function to implement the Annual Audit Plan, including as appropriate any special tasks requested by Management and/or the Audit Committee. Complete audits in accordance with the audit plan and as per audit manual, efficiently and effectively. Maintain a high quality of audit reporting ensuring that draft issues are clearly and concisely reported and the appropriate risk assessment based rating (i.e. High/ Medium/ Low) is assigned to each audit issue. Obtain a thorough understanding of the business and associated risks of the areas being audited. Ensure that the Internal Audit Department complies with sound internal auditing principles and best practices in accordance with the Audit Charter and Audit Manual adopted by Bank Oman.
Principal Responsibilities Conduct business and operational audits and ad-hoc reviews as directed and in accordance with the Audit Manual. Manage each audit project within pre-determined time budgets and deadlines. Maintain high quality working papers Draft factual reports which describe weaknesses, as identified during audits, indicate their significance and make constructive recommendations to deal with them. Agree reports with auditee management. Assist Head of Audit in making / make constructive contribution to the preparations of annual audit plan. This includes being on the lookout during the year for pressure points within the organization. Maintain up to date knowledge of developments (worldwide) including Oman regulations responsible to the business area being audited. Ensure compliance with Banks, HR, Information security & other policies.
Person Specifications 1. Minimum education level / discipline: Bachelor Degree or Equivalent 2. Mandatory professional qualifications / licenses: None. (preferably aim for either of ACA/CPA/ACCA/BBA/CISA/CIA/FRM) 3. Required experience in terms of region/industry/business/function/role: Minimum 10 years audit experience
