Job Title:  Systems Engineer

Job Location: Wiesbaden, Germany

Security Clearance:  Secret w/SSBI

Job Responsibilities:

The Systems Engineer will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Virtualized and physical integrated systems and network environment, with functional expertise areas including Microsoft Systems, Information Assurance (IA), Systems Optimization, and Networking. Serves as a subject matter technical expert in areas relevant to Virtualized Data Center integrated hardware and software as well as integration with local area network and global network infrastructure.  Has demonstrated past experience with government IT systems and networks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience, at least 4 of which must be supporting DOD contingency operations like DISA missions, including DOD (NIPR, SIPR) and Coalition (CENTRIXS, BICES) networks.
  • Expert level experience operating and maintaining enterprise virtualized environments with ESXi hosts and virtual desktop infrastructure.
  • Expert level knowledge of maintaining VMware ESXi virtualized operating environment to include management utilities and technologies.
  • Extensive experience in virtual environment automation.
  • Experience with configuring hardware/software in accordance with DISA STIGs.
  • Experience with performance analysis and optimization of virtual Windows Domains
  • Experience with configuration management systems (e.g. Puppet, Chef, vCM) and concepts behind mass configuration implementation and tracking
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with proactive monitoring concepts, including experience configuring and deploying Network and systems monitoring, SNMP, and SYSLOG e.g., Ganglia, Nagios, Zenoss, Splunk, SolarWinds, and VMware Vrealize Log Insight;
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Windows Server (2012R2) environments with ability to build, configure, and maintain
  • Systems: Microsoft Server 2012R2 (or higher)


  • Candidate must be DOD 8570.01 IAT-II compliant
  • Security + Certification
  • VMware VCP, CISCO CCNA / CCNP or Microsoft MCSA/MCSE (Technical cert)
  • Must be able to obtain certification as a Technical Expert by the German Government under the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) process

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or additional 6 years of verifiable high-level systems engineering experience in a virtualized data environment.
  • Extensive experience operating and maintaining an enterprise NetApp Storage Area Network (SAN).
  • Extensive knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Experience with VMware ESXi/vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, DRS, vCloud, SRM, vCOPS, vCM and additional virtualization technologies and concepts.
  • Experience with configuring underlying storage for Virtualized systems and storage network protocols such as Fiber Channel, NFS and CIFS
  • Experience with CENTRIXS networks and supporting infrastructure
  • Experience with configuring Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Scientific Linux)
  • Experience with implementing information security practices (cryptography, privilege separation, RBAC, INFOSEC, Auditing, patching, Security Benchmark Compliance, OS hardening, etc.);
  • Extensive knowledge of solutions such as server virtualization, high-availability clustering, and system design
  • Extensive experience with maintaining WAN, BAN, and or LANs using leading industry technologies
  • Extensive knowledge of VPNs, WANS, encryption devices, and other common network equipment in use on DOD networks


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering plus 3 years of professional specialized experience
  • Security + Certification (DOD 8570.01 IAT-II compliant)
  • VMware VCP, CISCO CCNA / CCNP or Microsoft MCSA/MCSE (Technical cert)
