We are now recruiting for a Technical Manager. You will be reporting directly to the General Manager Overall Job Objectives • Cost effective management of ships covering all aspects except pre fixture matters related to chartering • Ensure that vessels are maintained in compliance with statutory, class and charter party requirements. • Crewing of vessels with personnel of highest caliber hired within the allotted budgets. • Motivation of the overall ship management team to achieve the set goals. • Implement proven ship management practices. • Implement all directives of the company management relating to ship management. • Run safer ships to maintain cleaner oceans. Duties, responsibilities & tasks: • Supervise all manning and technical activities of the fleet & technical department with authorization from GM to take administrative & technical decisions as he finds appropriate. • Prepare budgets for the vessels and presents them to GM for approval. Monitor budgetary performance and ensure cost effective management of vessels. • Keep the GM advised on day to day basis about new buildings, ships operation, budgetary performance and any untoward incidents on vessels in the fleet. • Keep close contacts with clients maintains good working relationships with clients representatives who are involved in the operations of company’s vessels. • Communicates with clients with regard to customer property, while such property is under company’s control. • Ensure adequate implementation of company’s quality, safety and environmental policy on board the vessels. • Monitors vessel condition through regular on board inspections and oversees major repairs with assistance from superintendents. • Oversees all new building activities, reviews & approves major refits, dry-docking & major repairs. • Approves recruitment and training of floating staff for the entire fleet. Exercise operational control over manning agents in ensuring right quality of crew. • Initiate steps that help in the assessment of and building a highly motivated and competent pool of seafarers from different supply sources. Ensuring company policies and standards of recruitment are strictly followed by recruiting centers. • Train and supervise the fleet team and provide general guidance to his team with day to day operational involvement. • Any other duties assigned by the GM. Educational qualification and special training • Undergraduate degree in engineering or. • First class chief engineer certificate. • Previous experience as a Port Engineer. • 4 Years Experience as a technical manager or superintendent. • Experience in AHTSS Vessels.
