Job Description Summary
Strategic Finance partner to the President and CEO of the Intercontinental Region. Advisor to the President and CEO of this region to help maximize business value across the 4 sub-regions of India, AKA, Japan and Latin America.Job Description
Responsibilities:
. Partner with the region President & CEO and the leadership team to make the right decisions on investments, go to market strategy, partnerships.
. Lead and direct, coach and develop a team of Finance Executives, Managers, Analysts and Controllers that support the region.
. Ownership for developing estimates, operating plans/forecasts/reviews, Growth Playbook (3-year Plan), SII (1-year Plan).
. Drive profitable growth by providing analysis of results and reporting key metrics while advising the leadership team on risks and opportunities, as well as recommending actions.
. Overall responsibility for all internal finance processes - e.g. budgets, risks & opportunities process, receivables, revenue recognition, cash management and funding.
. Finance responsibility for all Business Development & Acquisition, Integration and Divesting activities in Region.
. Manage all reporting and statutory requirements - internal to business, within GE and externally.
. Coordinate internal and external financial audits for the business and ensuring all legal, tax, and GAAP requirements are met.
. Champion the streamlining of Accounting & Controllership practices across legal entities, and work with Controllership & Operational teams to drive controllership practices and ensure SOX compliance.
. Work closely with Human Resources on talent related concerns such as talent development, headcount and headcount planning, salary planning, payroll, and tax issues.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with 15+ years of financial work experience
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Worked in a multi cultural environment, sensitive to diverse cultures.
  • Asia/indirect markets experience preferred
  • Experience including developing forecasts & operating plans and leading business / finance reviews.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of Accounting Principles and Controllership.
  • Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change
  • Leadership experience of distributed teams across multiple countries
  • Clear thinking / problem solving, successful leadership of cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement able to quickly grasp new ideas
  • Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position for example, work closely with business leaders to achieve business objectives while driving controllership/GE Values
  • Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including Senior Executive), functions and regions able to clearly communicate complex financial information in a easy to understand manner able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing
  • Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows
  • Adaptable/flexible: being open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of financial compliance: SOX, GAAP
  • Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, SAP, COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, VLookup, and Macros)
  • Prefer Master Degree and experience on GE's Corporate Audit Staff (CAS)

  • You must be willing to travel a minimum of 30% of the time
  • You must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background
