Job Description:
The Cybersecurity Technical Writer is a key role in building the foundation of the cybersecurity communication aspects with clarifying content by creating reports, producing data, creating manuals, or establishing cybersecurity policy. The job holder turns strategy into actions and steps, as well as promotes the cybersecurity function to employees and clients.
The Cybersecurity Technical Writer edits, writes, and/or rewrites proposals, technical articles, publications, presentations, and other materials to communicate clearly and effectively offerings, company messaging, engagement findings, and other technical information to a wide range of external audiences. Interprets and administers documentation/communication policies and procedures. Advises writers and researchers in matters of style, syntax, and usage to improve the general quality and effectiveness of communications.

  • Drafting proposals and request for proposal/request for information (RFP/RFI) responses

  • Manage proposal process from creation to submission

  • Provide technical writing support to the organization, including (but not limited to):

    • Proposals

    • Presentations

    • Marketing initiatives

    • Offering documentation

    • Customer reports

    • Policies and procedures

  • Develops, recommends, and maintains editorial policies

  • Provide support and quality assurance for various parts of the business, including (but not limited to):

    • Business Development

    • Marketing

    • Professional Services

    • Security Operations

  • Maintain templates for various types of proposals, reports, and other documentation

  • Develop and lead innovative integrated communication campaigns that result in winning business and keeping business

  • Develop effective communications strategic plans, including business imperatives, brand stewardship, creative development, timelines, key messaging, audience segmentation, collateral design and production, digital/social media engagements, and associated metrics

  • Manage outside resources (e.g., marketing and advertising agencies, freelance writers)

  • Establish and drive business strategies on the web and towards social media, and ensure proper processes are in place

  • Champion the development and execution of socially appropriate online-'owned' content for the company's external website and social media channels, as well as internal social/digital channels

  • Participate in or direct preparation of company publications

  • Maintain documentation repository

Required Education & Skills

  • Bachelors Degree in Technical Communications, Technical Writing, Communications, English, or other related field

  • 5 years experience in technical writing

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and Power Point)

  • Must have strong communication and collaboration skills, both oral and written, with excellent interpersonal and organization skills, along with the ability to succeed with remote management

  • Ability to develop, edit, and review security documentation

  • Knowledge/understanding of cybersecurity principles

  • Ability to explain technical content to audiences of all levels

  • Ability to explain technical material to non-technical audiences

  • Proven written and verbal communication skills

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management

  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills

Desired Skills/Certifications

  • Masters Degree in Technical Communications, Technical Writing, Communications, or related field

  • Background in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field

  • Proficiency in English and Arabic with ability to demonstrate skill in both languages, both orally and written

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Ability to use all Microsoft Office Suite programs

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
