Job Description


Responsible for defining, transforming, & maintaining the regional strategy in the assigned region in accordance with the corporate data protection strategy & objectives.

  • Executes data protection tasks in the assigned region, in the function of the 'extended arm' of the Corporate Data Protection Officer.
  • Implements & monitors global data protection standards, processes, & strategies in the assigned region.
  • Implements & assures data protection incident management in the assigned region according to global standards.
  • Conducts internal audits on site as well as external audits at service providers.
  • Implements & monitors of region-specific KPIs.
  • Actively cooperates with the Data Protection Officers especially regarding standards, processes, strategies, & improvement projects.
  • Provides information to Corporate Data Protection Officer.
  • Responsible for developing regional data protection e-learnings.
  • Functions as Data Protection Officer for assigned entities.
  • Acts as contact person for the supervisory authorities in the assigned region, if required.
  • And other duties as assigned.

  • ISO 27001 / BS 10012
  • A legal, compliance, IT security or audit background
  • Data Privacy Regulations - GDPR, US Privacy Shield, India Data Protection Bill,
  • Fluent in English (B2 Upper intermediate)
  • Certified as Information Privacy Professional
  • Very good knowledge of the relevant legal standards on data protection
  • Good knowledge of management systems
  • A legal, compliance, IT security or audit background
  • Expert knowledge & in-depth understanding of data privacy legislation (including GDPR) & be able to draw on the privacy teams & expertise within the Group including local data protection laws
  • Experience in a similar type of role in a multinational business & dealing with DPAs, governments & industry bodies, ideally in a situation where personal data is transferred outside the European Union
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity risks & information security standards
  • Good understanding of the data processing operations carried out, as well as the information systems, & data security & data protection needs of a Services organization
  • Ability to make good judgements regarding data privacy risks & to prioritize resources & activity around managing those risks
  • Able to conduct the role independently & with integrity & high professional ethics
  • Ability to plan, organize & prioritize tasks & projects
  • Good personal communication skills capable of dealing with wide range of stakeholders, including senior management
  • Proven ability to establish & maintain a high degree of confidentiality, respect, trust, and credibility at all levels
  • Strong team player & proven ability to lead and manage a team
  • Enthusiastic & positive
  • The ability to remain calm, controlled, & resilient
