Job Description

We are looking for Deputy Manager / Manager – Plastics Buyer for perfume/cosmetics/personal care company in Gujarat, Ahmedabad, India. Below are the details ;-
Educational Qualifications :- Graduate in engineering or packaging development. Post grad in packaging, or plastics packaging field will be a benefit.
Experience ;- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a Buyer role.
Must be from the Plastics industry. Ideally someone who has worked in a plastics supplier.
Should have focused on procuring or selling Plastic bottles, Plastic Jars, in HDPE, PP, PET etc, Tubes, Laminates, Shrink films, Plastic Sleeves. Experience in a plastic Moulding, industry [HDPE, PP, PET Jar making suppliers] will be an added advantage.

Job Purpose :-
To head the groups purchasing of a variety of plastics raw materials, with a view to constantly reduce cost, lead time and improve quality.

Skills ;-
  • In depth technical knowledge of the plastics industry.
  • Considerable knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures, working knowledge of sources of supplies, price trends and grades or quality of materials and equipment.
  • Ability to analyze and process purchasing requisitions and make purchasing decisions accordingly.
  • Ability to maintain complex purchasing and inventory records.
  • Procurement methods and procedures of a large scale purchasing function including buying, quality assurance & contract administration.
  • Knowledge on commodity markets and price trends, various grades, qualities and varieties of materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Accounting practices as applied to procurement procedures.
Responsibilities ;-
  • Responsible for implementing the purchasing strategies and procurement policies to reduce the cost of goods and services, selecting procurement sources based upon analysis, increase internal controls, and improve the overall effectiveness of the procurement functions within the required time, budget and quality standards.
  • To evaluate and monitor all the purchasing requirements of the company related to all plastic items
  • To ensure systematic execution of procedures for the timely and cost- effective purchasing of all materials, equipment and services required by the company consistent with applicable rules and regulations.
  • To establish and maintain working relationships with suppliers and develop lists of approved suppliers for use by the company.
  • To investigate new and improved sources of goods and services.
  • To analyze material and supply reports to determine status of inventories and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • To develop requirements and implementation plan for vendor evaluations.
  • To plan, direct and manage all purchasing requirements of the company.
  • To evaluate overall revisions, price and past performance of each purchase order and approval of price increases;
  • To improve the efficiency of the purchasing department.
