Job Description
The Senior Officer, Employee Relations partners with Coordinator Employee Relations in providing guidance, support and recommendations to Human Resource Officers and HR management with regards to employee relations matters. This position is focused on the resolution of employee issues, HR communication, staff satisfaction and other related HR initiatives.
  • Track various service requests of employee and the implementation of the approved decision, including but not limited to probation completion, extended medical leave and other ad-hoc requests to process these requests in a timely manner
  • Contribute to the preparation and processing of all type of documents related to employee relations, including promotions, lateral transfers, downgrades, salary certificates and salary adjustments in compliance with approved guidelines and policies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper documentation of files related to employee relations like Memos, Directives etc. to retrieve them as needed
  • Develop response specifications, reviews output and finalizes submission of the employee relations queries raised by the system Human Resources Officers to provide them with a unified (system-wide) response to their queries.
  • Assists with the identification and development of an employee relations database that will provide policy, performance, and compliance reports and metrics to improve the Employee Services function
  • Support in conducting exit interviews for departing employees to ensure that the valid reasons are captured through the process.
  • Study and follow up absenteeism report for review and action by Coordinator, Employee Relations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the line manager.

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant HR experience, with at least 1 years spent in the Employee Relations function
  • Experience in a higher education setting preferred
  • Familiarity and demonstrated experience with human resource management principles, theories, and concepts
  • Knowledge of UAE Federal Laws / Labor Laws
  • A high degree of computer literacy and demonstrated experience working with sophisticated recruitment tools
  • Current knowledge of industry practices, trends and issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization and with appropriate external stakeholders
  • Highly developed organizational, analytical and problem solving skills are required
  • The ability to work effectively as a team member in a multi-cultural environment
  • A demonstrated willingness to engage in professional development activities in order to develop and improve new and current skills, and to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization
