JOB DESCRIPTION
Role : Financial Crime Quality Assurance Analyst
Location : Abu Dhabi

Role Purpose:
  • To execute consistent risk-based and cost-effective Quality Assurance Reviews (QA) to improve the quality of KYC reviews, AML / Sanctions investigations, regulatory reporting and controls, as well as to mitigate the regulatory and reputational risks.
  • To provide management reporting and proactively identify risks, assess the relevant controls and AML, Sanctions and KYC processes being reviewed, and provide additional training and suggestions to enhance the effectiveness of the processes.
  • This role will be responsible for QA activities for ADIB UAE and IBG Countries (ADIB Sudan, ADIB Iraq and ADIB Qatar.

Key Accountabilities of the role
  • Perform regular QA reviews across all aspects of the KYC (including Ongoing Due Diligence), Sanctions and AML program for onshore and offshore activities.
  • Produce reports containing QA results and associated metrics using established procedures.
  • Perform regular QA checks to validate the effectiveness of the FCC Systems such as Customer Risk Assessment System (FCCM), Name Screening (Firco Trust), Payment Screening (Firco Continuity) and Transaction Monitoring (OMNI).
  • Identify areas of risk and make recommendations on operational improvements, processes for compliance, and additional training essential to mitigate risk.
  • Produce Management Information reporting to BRCC, CCC and BAC as per agreed reporting frequencies and metrics.
  • Provides insight into quality gaps discovered as part of the quality assurance process and ensures these gaps are communicated to appropriate management and business owners.
  • Support the FCC Management and teams in researching emerging trends/best practices and determine implications of proposed methodologies on meeting FCC unit strategy.
  • Coordinate directly with wide range of stakeholders across the organization and external vendors to resolve issues, as required.
  • Create and maintain various documentation including QA review reports suitable for Audit and Regulatory review.
  • Apply regulatory rules, policies, and sound judgement to respond to QA related inquiries from FCC units.
  • Participate in and/or lead certain Compliance projects, as needed.
  • Promote teamwork & peer reviews. (willingness to help, adaptability to team situations, sharing workload).
  • Record material issues identified through QA reviews in GRC System with agreed action plans, track remediation and ensure timely escalations of overdue actions to Global Head of FCC.
  • Participate and involve in meetings/workshops/seminars to represent FCC unit.
  • Continuous self-development professionally through training & professional certifications.
  • Assist the QA Manager in preparation and updates of QA Unit SOPs.
  • Keep abreast of related laws, regulations, and best practices pertaining to AML/CFT & Sanctions and assess its impact on ADIB Group. For International branches and subsidiaries, work with Head of IBG Compliance and local MLRO's to remediate findings of QA reviews in line with the local laws and regulations.
Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:
  • Experience and knowledge of compliance monitoring and testing methodologies for adherence to applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Expert level skills in MS Office products, specifically Power Point, Excel and Word.
  • High level of integrity with the ability to deal with various level of employees with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to monitor and analyze regulatory requirements and relate them to FCC processes, regulatory risks and compliance controls and to support a broad range of projects.
  • Ability to make decisions independently using sound judgment, work well under pressure and shifting priorities while meeting multiple or conflicting deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and very strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to interpret and operationalize regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong execution skills with attention to detail and focus on clear, realistic action steps and timelines.
  • Ability to handle multiple initiatives and prioritize work to meet deadlines and fulfill the demands of a rapidly changing environment
  • The candidate is expected to have professional qualification or industry recognized certifications / diploma in Compliance related fields like ACAMSs/ICA/ACFCS/FIBA etc.
  • Good knowledge of the UAE/international regulations/ rules.
  • Good knowledge of Banks's products, policies & procedures.
  • Good knowledge of compliance function planning.
