Our Client is one of the well known companies in Bahrain and they are currently looking to hire a Food Manager to be based in Bahrain.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Developing, maintaining, and assessment of Food Safety Management System.
  • Establishing standard operating procedures for all aspects of food safety and quality assurance in coordination with operations, training, supply chain and maintenance or any department that can affect directly or indirectly product quality, and safety.
  • Take the lead in supplier's accreditation program such as independent audits, to ensure that food vendor's has the required competence to produce and provide high quality and safe foods in accordance to the franchised Policy standards and other applicable standards thereof.
  • Conducts adequate food safety and product quality trainings to all food handlers in close coordination with operations and training department to ensure and improve food handler's competence in overall food quality and safety.
  • Ensure that all stores are pest free by coordinating with the appointed pest control service providers and competently assessed the contractor's performance related to monthly general pest control treatment thereof.
  • Investigate sources of customer complaints to prevent recurrence, as well as food safety incidence such us food poisoning, allergy incidence and liaise with the proper regulatory authorities if required.
  • Any task as required by the general manager and his authorized representative

Qualification & Requirements:
  • Equivalent technical experience - at least 5 years total experience with minimum of 1 year in management role in the same field.
  • Experience working in the Food Industry either retail, manufacturing, or QSR with a working knowledge and understanding of quality management systems.
  • Practical knowledge of High Risk / High Care Ready To Eat (RTE) processes and operations. Preferably, a working knowledge of the sandwich, bakery, drinks and cooked meat industries.
  • Knowledge of in-country food laws with regards to compositional requirements of foods, food safety and labelling requirements.
  • Experience of completing and / or approving product specifications. These specifications will be used as a source of information for labels and POS information including nutrition data, allergen information and marketing claims.
