The Industry Value Advisory - Financial Services - EMEA South helps our customers to run, grow, connect, innovate and transform in the digital world.
Industries is SAP's prime Go-To-Market and the General Manager (GM) is a senior leader overseeing the SAP EMEA South industry organization 'operating' model end to end (Sales, Value engineering, Innovation, Eco-system & Partners, Marketing, and the IBU) and representing the SAP Industry leadership towards customers, partners, the eco-system and the SAP internal organization.
The GM oversees the development of a distinctive community where industry expertise is embedded across the company and front-line resources are more effective by industry, ultimately bringing the best outcome for our customers, partners, and SAP. Dynamic industry practice is based on the interrelationships between SAP resources, customers, partners, industry priorities, GTM, and demand generation and sales activities. The GM role is instrumental in governing a coherent and consistent approach that moves the business forward.
  • Provide overall strategic direction for Banking and Insurance within the region
  • Drive business success (Revenue, Pipeline, Adoption/Renewals, and growth in sub-verticals).
  • Set industry strategy, focus, key bets, and needs, aligning with senior stakeholders (Cluster Heads & MDs), ICA and global IBU's.
  • Oversee the operational execution of the industry strategy.
  • Lead, influence, and engage with customers to drive long-term adoption, expansion, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead key sales engagements and help the team to define the right strategy to close business.
  • Support the industry community - industry value advisors, partners, sales, and others - to work together to create a healthy business.
  • Leveraging relationships, content, and resources from global teams through building EMEA South industry brand.
  • Establish a strong personal brand and be the visible face internally and in the market.

  • Significant years (15 +) experience in General Management, Sales, Value Advisory and/or Business Development roles with large, multi-national software/technology organization a plus.
  • SAP product application experience and relevant industry/solutions experience essential.
  • Regional Industry/ business experience in SAP's target Industries, specifically Financial Services to include banking and Insurance.
  • Prior experience successfully managing people/teams in complex, cross-functional & matrixed capacity.
  • Exposures and experience with customers based in the EMEA South region is preferred.
  • Business planning, business case development & operational excellence.
  • Record of building strong customer relationships.
  • Fluency in English, any other language an asset.
  • Fluency in the language of local markets desirable
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required, MBA or equivalent degree required from an accredited university preferred.
