Parsons is now hiring a Lead Civil Engineer with a desire to work on Airport infrastructure projects. We need our Principal Engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills. The successful candidate analyzes proposed projects to ensure structural reliability, resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Responsible for the development of engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, estimates, surveys and designs. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locationis expected.
Project Summary:
The project is scheduled in phases consists of 13 different packages including the construction of a new building for Arrivals and Departures, expansion of the existing terminal, Apron works, increase in parking stands, Baggage Handling System and the development of the roads leading to the airport. Parsons’ services include, but not limited to, design and scope management, project management, planning support services, construction management.
Position Overview:
Leads Construction Packages as part of the Airport Expansion Project. Must have experience in similar lead position. Preferably with Airport Experience.Determines methods and solutions for construction and engineering problems and selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting time and budget objectives. Anticipates Construction issues and applies engineering and scheduling techniques to mitigate. May serve as a technical consultant in area of specialty for management or the client. Many assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • May function as discipline Project Engineer assuming responsibility for the work of the group.
  • May plan, direct, and supervise the work of a construction project requiring a largescale expenditure of manpower and financial investment.
  • Leads other Consultants and Contractors and growth in the Quality Improvement Process.
  • Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary activities.
  • Ensures compliance of as-built with the design and all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
  • Reviews and ensures plans are implemented and deviations are managed. Monitors Project execution for Quality, HSE and Compliance to Time, Budget and Design. Ensures formal communication with Consultant and Contractors. Attends progress meetings.
  • Monitors and reports potential deviations impacting time of budget. Prepares with the Commercial Team the Variation Orders and manages Construction. Reviews periodical reports.
  • Prepares material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; reviews supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing sup plier manufacturing capabilities.
  • Develops operation and maintenance plans; develops standard operating procedures; prepares O & M manuals and may conduct onsite training of personnel.
  • Conducts surveys, studies, and site investigations. Performs reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM) and safety analyses.
  • Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
  • Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. May assist with other administrative and technical duties.
  • Recommends and prepares technical papers.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and 10+ years of related work experience
  • Airfield and airport terminal experience. GCC experience is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer registration may be required.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to perform in a lead capacity.
  • Project and Construction Management skills and a familiarity of industry practices and UAE regulations are required.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
