Job Description


• Operates units and system equipment such as Pumps, Electric Motors, Oil & Gas fired furnaces, steam mains/traps, API Separators, Dehydration & Desalination facilities, Boilers and accessories, Desalination units, Air Compression Station, Inert Gas Generator Units, Instrumentation for measurement and control of pressure flow, temperature and levels for all equipment in tank farm and utilities area for safe and smooth distribution of potable water and storage & export facilities.
• Adheres to instructions received from Supervisors/Site Senior Operator/Panel Operations for start-up, shutdown, isolation, flow rates/level/pressures/temperature adjustments on various operational units to achieve optimum performance. Checks and inputs collected data for tank levels, dipping, water, steam production for accounting purposes.
• Operates local panels, valves, etc. and takes required action to correct operating conditions whenever alarms are activated. Monitors plant parameters after every 2 to 4 hours and maintains/records in plant log sheets various readings such as tank levels/temperatures, air, steam, water flow and reports abnormalities. Collects crude oil, DEA, condensate and water samples and prepares/operates inline samples to ensure H2S content and compliance with specifications for tank storage/ship loading and tests water samples in utilities mini lab for residual chlorine.
• Conducts site tours around Storage & Utilities areas regularly during assigned shift, checks on installation, equipment and valves to ensure smooth and safe operations of system. Reports equipment and instrument defects, leaks, storage tank condition, etc. immediately to Supervisor and in emergency situations takes possible quick actions.
• Works in accordance with established Operating Procedures and Work Methods, HSE policy and ensures awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations at all times.
• Carries out routine checks on all plants, equipment and units to ensure proper functioning and participates in isolating plants and equipment for routine/major maintenance. Prepares equipment for maintenance/checks condition of equipment on completion of maintenance and prepares for commissioning by following approved established procedures. Tests water for salinity and conductivity and add necessary chemicals to ensure normal condition for portable water production and steam generation plant. Manually gauges all crude oil and condensate tanks and prepares official gauging reports in presence of assigned SPC Oil Inspectors.
• Participates in Safety Group Meeting Emergency Drills and HSE Campaigns. Creates alertness of HSE Hazards at surrounding work area and awareness of Marshalling Points and Emergency Exits. Reports HSE observations to highlight any substandard condition/practice at work area.
• Monitors work site to ensure maintenance/project works are conducted in the presence of valid PTW and adherence to all work permit conditions. Checks completed work to ensure proper house-keeping standards are maintained.
• Ensures that equipment/system is integrated safely into operation after completion of work. Familiarizes with all operating manuals, procedures, standing instructions and plant operating parameters and ensures compliance of the same during routine and non-routine job.

• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and Client’s Code of Practices.
• Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.
• Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during operations, in line with established standards of Hygiene and Housekeeping.

• Provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for Company Management.
• Prepare various Key Performance Indicator (KPI) checklists for management.
