Specialty: - Paramedic * Job Summary The Locum Event Practitioner is a key role to the delivery of a patient focused care during the FIFA World Cup2022. The Locum Event Practitioner will be a senior member of the medical team across event sites and will, on occasions, be required to provide direct supervision and clinical leadership to a team assigned to them. The Locum Event Practitioner will be required to work on flexible shift basis for the duration of the event and will be assigned to a specific event location but may be reassigned as the event progresses. Further, the duties of a Locum Event Practitioner are delivered in an out of hospital environment related to the cover of events. Candidates should be comfortable conducting their duties in such a temporary/out of hospital environment.
Responsibilities: 1. To deliver high quality immediate medical assistance assessing patients clinical needs and then referring or discharging from the scene as appropriate
2. Work to Hamad Medical Corporation Ambulance Service (HMCAS) Clinical Practice Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, and the clinical scope of an HMCAS Ambulance Paramedic
3. Where appropriate and clearly identified take delegated responsibility for delivery of clinical care within their service delivery area as part of the clinical Team ensuring close liaison with HMCAS duty supervisory/managerial structure.
4. In collaboration with other team members, ensure effective management and provision of all clinical access, effectiveness, or communication operations, without compromising patient care.
5. Co-ordinate effective hand-over at shift change times to avoid any adverse impact on clinical access, effectiveness and communications quality and performance measures.
6. To be responsible for staff welfare and support where appropriate.
7. Promote and ensure best practice employee relations with emphasis on communications, equal opportunities, diversity, health and safety and attendance management.
8. Manage both clinical and non-clinical risks. This will involve identifying and escalating risks appropriately and implementing plans to mitigate them where required.
9. To ensure that their service delivery area is prepared and adequately resourced to manage multiple casualty incidents (MCI) and other major incidents in line with event plans.
10. Practices according to the Hamad Medical Corporation Ambulance Service Code of Professional Conduct.
Educational Requirements: Meet DHP licensure requirements as a paramedic or nurse as per the following: -
Registered General Nurse, one of the following: -
1. Bachelor's Degree in nursing (4 years), OR
2. Diploma in Nursing: 3 years after graduation from Paramedic, one of the following: - 1. UK: an approved program leading to eligibility to register with the Health Care Professions Council - UK as a paramedic, OR
2. Canadian Primary Care Paramedic, OR
3. Australian: Diploma or degree in Para medicine, OR
4. South African HPCSA Registered Diploma: Emergency Care Technician, OR
5. New Zealand based diploma of paramedic science, OR
6. Completion of a relevant program or equivalent which is recognized by the national regulatory body and by DHP Qatar.

Locum Job Title: Locum Event Critical Care Paramedic Duration: 3- 4 Months

* Job Summary Locum Event Critical Care Paramedics are responsible for the delivery of emergency pre-hospital critical care at the scene of an illness or injury and then on the journey to a healthcare facility. They are also responsible for undertaking a comprehensive, holistic systematic assessment, in order to determine the needs, concerns, problems, issues, and/or diagnosis that serve as a basis for patient care. The Locum Event Critical Care Paramedic will be required to work on flexible shift basis for the duration of the event. It is likely that they will be assigned to a specific event location but may be reassigned as the event progresses. Further, the duties of a Locum Event Critical Care Paramedic are delivered in an out of hospital environment related to the cover of events. Candidates should be comfortable conducting their duties in such a temporary/out of hospital environment.
Responsibilities: To safely respond to emergency calls in the role of the Locum Event Critical Care Paramedic, providing critical care in accordance with approved clinical guidelines and departmental policies and procedures.
2. To safely move and transport patients from the scene of an incident to a health care facility, or between health care facilities.
3. At multiple casualty incidents (MCI) and other major incidents undertake clinical triage and scene management until relieved by a more senior clinician.
4. To provide clinical leadership to Ambulance Paramedics.
5. To provide proactive, clear, and respectful clinical supervision for all Ambulance Paramedics within your team, whilst on duty.
6. Lead and deliver post event feedback for all clinical staff, whilst on duty. Support team members to engage in personal reflective practice to improve their clinical standards and provision of care.
7. To independently provide direct patient critical care services, in accordance with the personal capability, experience and knowledge of the post holder. This will include comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic emergency cardiac procedures, the application of a comprehensive critical care medication formulary and the management of critical care patients during transfer.
8. To liaise with partner agencies to ensure the coordinated delivery of emergency medical care to ill or injured patients.
9. Adhere to Hamad Medical Corporation Ambulance Service (HMCAS) code of conduct, policies, Standing Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG's)
10. Engages in ethical decision-making with respect to own professional responsibilities or where ethical issues affect healthcare delivery or clinical decision- making.
