Job Description

• Provides Performance Reporting and Capacity Planning activities for all systems in large data center environment as a member of the Performance Team
• Performs ongoing monitoring and analysis and makes recommendations for performance improvements and efficiencies
• Possesses understanding of Performance Management best practices for the organization’s systems and applications
• Reviews and fine tunes performance objectives relative to Windows systems and family of products
• Provides analysis and reporting for Windows operating systems and Applications performance and resource utilization including: CPU, memory usage and storage
• Possesses an ability to design and implement processes to better predict impacts to performance and capacity as applications are added and/or changes occur
• Creates and analyzes ongoing performance reporting (scheduled and ad-hoc) and analyzes usefulness or changes needed to best achieve performance objectives
• Ensures that recommended adjustments in performance are done in a timely manner and in co-ordination with interested parties
• Monitors and validates the integrity of reporting data prior to final publishing of reports
• Reviews performance reports with team and management on a regular basis before distributing
• Evaluates performance and usage trends by application and system
• Makes recommendations of performance and tuning actions for systems and applications
• Provides assistance as needed to the client, Project Managers, operations, and other systems support and/or technical teams as needed
• Evaluates technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution
• Evaluates solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge to determine potential performance impacts

Additional Requirements:
• Extensive experience in performance management architecture, implementation and management for a mission critical large systems open/distributed systems environment
• Must have senior level skills with performance analysis, tuning and reporting
• Thorough and up-to-date working knowledge of the latest performance management tools, technologies, and best practices related to a wide range of open systems technologies
• Experience with required tools and access methods not limited to but including: CA-APM, CA-WILY, IBM Cognos BI, IBM Tivoli Products, Postgres SQL
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following in relation to performance reporting and analysis: Windows Performance Counters, Storage (IBM, EMC, etc.), VMWare, Websphere Application Server (Windows), IIS
• Some working knowledge of programming languages, e.g. Java, ASP.NET, etc.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Honest, hardworking, loyal, patient, diligent, knowledge sharing and essential team player. Adaptable, approachable, reliable, helpful and trustworthy.
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office tools including Visio, Powerpoint, Exel and Email
