The client,based in Qatar, is a multi-billion dollar investment vehicle that has built a significant global portfolio consisting of a wide range of asset classes.
Job Description
The role reporting to the Head of Commodities, has the following responsibilities:
  • To assist in the development and management of the company's Commodities Portfolio
  • Take responsibility for specific investments and to evaluate new investment opportunities
  • Post-acquisition, to ensure appropriate reporting, performance monitoring and risk assessment of investments
  • Accuracy of reporting and clear identification of variances/issues
  • Compliance with operational procedures and instructions
  • Appropriateness of recommendations with clear demonstration of value preservation/enhancement
  • Clear demonstration of value enhancement to the portfolio and overall strategy

The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Atleast a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, economics or equivalent
  • A strong preference for a master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics or equivalent or CFA
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant progressive professional experience in similar investment and/or advisory institutions as well as expertise in the Commodities sector is a plus
  • A preference for sub-sector experience for mining or agriculture
  • Strong communication skills
