JOB DESCRIPTION & NATURE OF WORK
JOB TITLE : Project Engineer Specialist
REPORTING TO : Head Retail Development
DEPARTMENT : Operation and Technical
Nature of Job:
Oversee assigned BRC service station construction and maintenance projects to ensure execution to agreed timelines and budgets. Identify and rectify potential problems within assigned projects and be able to problem-solve and troubleshoot all project issues in a timely manner.
Details of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and report cost/resource control performance.
  • Updates actual expenditures and forecast remaining cost/resource needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of scope of work, project deliverables, and activities.
  • Monitors and reports critical path and schedule performance.
  • Updates actual progress and forecast remaining work schedule.
  • Prepares miscellaneous proposals, plans, and reports to meet deliverable requirements.
  • Maintains and updates scope within work breakdown structure.
  • Reports on unbudgeted activities.
  • Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
  • Organizing, attending and participating in stakeholder meetings.
  • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
  • Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings.
  • Ensuring project deadlines are met.
  • Determining project changes.
  • Providing administrative support as needed.
  • Undertaking project tasks as required.
  • Assist in developing project strategies.
  • Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
Communications and Working Relationships
Internal - Maintenance department.
Other departments if required.
External - Contractors and Suppliers.
Framework Boundaries, Decision Making, Authority & Responsibility
Key decisions having significant impact on the BRC’S Retail Operations activities are referred to the Marketing and Strategy Manager for approval before implementation. The jobholder exercises financial authority as per the level established by the General Manager and stipulated in the authority matrix.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  1. Knowledge
  • BSc in Engineering.
  • PMP Certification is preferable.
  • Skills
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Strong people management skills.
    • Proven management and interpersonal ability. Good analysis and interpretation skills.
    • Advanced MS office skills.
  • Experience
  • 4 -7 years relevant experience in a similar role.
