Our Client, one of the most recognized and iconic FMCG brands in this region and the world’s leading manufacturer and marketer of high performance alkaline batteries, complemented by a strong portfolio of specialty cells and rechargeable.
Regional Headquarters in Singapore and global Headquarters in Chicago.
Expected contribution:
• Provides Market insights (competitive analysis, in-depth trade understanding, growth opportunities, risk assessments)
• Provides DPSM (Distribution, Pricing, Shelving, Merchandising) insights, learnings and plans in all channels
• Recommends plans and strategies, methods to Distributor/Company which enable profitable growth
• Tracks and strives to predictably deliver agreed quantitative and qualitative targets
• Recommends corrective action to adapt to changing market paradigms and proposes further growth plans
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Forecasting & Analysis:
• Helps provide forecasts into the prescribed forecast models and achieve forecast accuracy as per set targets
• Tracks and analyses forecast in monthly reviews
• Monitors and proposes appropriate action to highlight excess / non-moving inventories. Targets agreed stock levels
• Agrees with Distributors S&OP process timings and reviews
• Meeting and Business Information- Support organizing internal and external meeting presentations
Business & Sales Management:
• Supports achievement of budgeted shipments, distributor IMS, inventory levels
• Monitors and tracks IMS performance and recommends corrective action
• Helps implement Trade visibility and display programs as per agreed Strategy
• Recommends and supports the planning of product launch programs and helps implement.
• Tracks and proposes corrective actions
Trade and Competition Insights:
Keeps abreast of trade developments to enhance Client's position as the recognized category leader
• Collates and reports competitive activities and information and provide feedback
• Reviews Retail Audit Data and prepare action plans
• Updates Consumption market model (MSE, Segment growth)
• Preferred having E-commerce, Electro experience
Distributor & Third Party Relationships:
Plans and execution:
• Participates in Joint Business Planning with the Distributor. Reviews progress of JBP and agreed KPIs
• Ensures the brand gets the right focus at distributor level (key account, sales force, marketing, supply)
• Leverages distributor scale to maximize channel coverage and optimize SBD implementation
• Works with and supports distributor sales force to ensure agreed objectives are met Review distributor performance monthly
Builds Distributor/3rd party Capability in following areas:
•Client's Business Model, Category expertise, SBD, Channel expertise
• Actively ensures that Distributor’s Sales Teams possess BIC levels of knowledge and skills to achieve planned objectives
• Updates distributor personnel on product knowledge, build capability via trainings, on route coaching and feedback
Processes, Business Planning and Reporting
• Monthly letter to cover Regional fundamentals and market dynamics (incl. competition). Regular Business Updates on business plans, KPIs, P&Ls, promo calendars, activity grids and reports
• Reports all relevant spends such as TPR / SP spends. Tracks implementation of KBD funds to maximize profitable utilization of trade fund within agreed budgets
• Centralizes Display and POSM needs for the region and organize supply of such to the markets within the geography
Required Competencies & Capabilities
• Preferably 5 years’ experience
• Preferably Electro / E-commerce background
• Possesses very strong negotiation & communication skills
• Demonstrate very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate well (verbally & written)
• Is open-minded and demonstrate a can do approach. Is resourceful and inventive
• Demonstrate ability to deliver on objectives, across functions and in challenging circumstances
• Display high level of resilience under internal & external pressure
• Has excellent collaboration skills to lead multifunctional efforts and creates win-win solutions; leads work across organizational boundaries, externally and internally.
• Experience of working as part of a multi-cultural and geographically dispersed team (advantage)
• Avid and humble learner
• Fluent in English
• Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (Advanced level)
