Job summary
The Amazon MENA Cross-Channel and Category Marketing (XCM) team is looking for a results-oriented, creative, and digitally savvy consumer marketing leader to lead the planning and execution of our brand communication in MENA. The Senior Brand and Communications Manager will be responsible for building a world-class, customer-centric brand via consumer research, brand health tracking, creative/communication execution, and measurement.
Reporting to the MENA Head of XCM, she/he will work within the MENA marketing team with frequent engagement with world-wide and emerging markets marketing and measurement teams, as well as our local category teams, to build a strong, locally relevant brand via effective and efficient marketing campaigns (heavy emphasis on digital channels). She/he will be responsible for building and executing the brand framework (and associated categories) and developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across ATL and digital platforms by briefing the in-house creative department and reviewing all marketing works between external advertising/creative vendors and internal brand teams - ensuring a cohesive brand proposition is presented to our customers. Furthermore, she/he will be responsible for owning a brand communication Big Rock that feeds into Amazon MENA's mass marketing investment strategy.
She/he will have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English, deep digital marketing expertise across top channels, and will be expected to present to senior leadership regularly. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial, innovative, with a creative streak, and excel at 'thinking big,' while also recognizing the need to coordinate his or her activities within the structure of a large, fast-moving company. Defining and implementing long term brand strategies based on trends and competitive analysis and the ability to think outside of the box to solve complex problems are critical to success.
This person must also enjoy being a creative contributor, strong project manager, and have the ability to engage productively and successfully with key stakeholders across the organization. You must be comfortable working both at the strategic level and diving deep into implementation as needed. You will show hustle, take ownership, and help foster a high-energy, high-performance culture.
Ideal Candidate
. You have strong customer focus and can identify consumer insights and analyze data deeply
. You have success developing strongly differentiated positioning and segmentation strategies for consumer products/categories that have met or exceeded business objectives
. You have developed large scale integrated marketing campaigns for highly visible consumer products/brands, worked in regional roles, and managed deployment across local teams
. You have qualified and developed best in class creative for regional markets within a global brand framework
. You have experience in creative development process from a creative agency angle, and have worked closely with creatives to deliver on specific briefs
. You have proven experience in ATL media strategy, planning, and execution
. You have proven experience planning and developing digital brand and media campaigns across key channels that support customer engagement
. You can think strategically about an entire product line-up, brand, and company to see how all the elements best fit together
. You like getting your hands dirty in day-to-day tasks to get things done
. You are known for rigorous testing, measurement and iteration to improve results continuously
This role is based in Dubai, UAE.
Key job responsibilities
. Develop and execute the image and voice of the Amazon MENA brand
. Ensure brand consistency of creative and communication assets throughout all marketing channels
. Measure campaign results and optimize current and future campaigns
. Plan and execute surveys to inform the brand development
. Establish and maintain a high level of communication and transparency throughout the organization
. Partner with cross-functional teams to assess where there are message ready opportunities for products or categories to engage in mass communications to support Amazons overall communication strategies
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Communications/Advertising
. 8+ years experience owning and creating successful large scale television, print, out of home, and other advertising/marketing campaigns
. Background working as a leader in the development of brands and digital content innovation
. A remarkable portfolio that demonstrates your ability to turn ideas into a strong creative vision
. Experience with a digital, online retailer, or developing and leading the creative for digital and e-commerce aspects of a brand
. Ability to create a compelling positioning/messaging strategy from the ground up - a must
. Deep knowledge of marketing methods and strategies experience planning, developing and executing complex marketing programs
. Solid quantitative/analytical and budget management skills
. Deep understanding of off-line and digital media strategy and planning
. Experience working with data to drive decision making
. Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Arabic - a must
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
. Post-graduate education / Masters level qualification
. Client (Brand Management) and agency side experience
. Digital Marketing expertise across top online branding channels
. Experience working with remote teams
. Awarded/recognized for innovative/creative consumer marketing programs that generate results
