Digital lean transformation is in demand in every function and industry around the world, especially in GE Finance. This role will be part of a cross-functional team that includes finance, lean, digital technology, human resources, L&D and communications to design experiences, tools and resources that help engage, develop and empower highly effective finance teams.

We're looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer with experience in hackathon planning & execution, process automation, data engineering and data visualization.Job Description

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
  • Be responsible for defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast-paced and agile development environment using the latest back-office technologies and infrastructure (Microsoft Azure, APIs, RPA, Tableau).
  • Be responsible for developing, deploying and coaching digital elements of daily management systems, including digital genba boards, daily huddle boards, visual management tools and boards, production andon boards, and cadence to support.
  • Be an active listener able to connect with cross-functional teams to understand pain points and solve problems increasing value and reducing lead-time, with measurable impact on Safety, Quality, Deliver, Cost and Cash.
  • Understand customer-specific requirements to design and develop virtual and digital experiences, architectures and solutions to 1,000+ participants.
  • Learn and apply lean thinking to become a digital lean evangelist and help coach internal teams, customers and partners on self-service automation and visualization tools.
  • Develop deep relationships with key decision makers, who in turn drive engagement within their businesses to enable them to be digital lean advocates.
  • Translate requirements and vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards.
  • Demonstrate strategic understanding of the timing and rationale for design choices within the scope of work.
  • Apply principles of lean and agile methodologies, software and product security, scalability, documentation, and testing techniques.
  • Maintain and advance deep technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights, and share within the technical community.
  • Provide technical leadership to an agile team of 7-12 members.
  • Drive increased efficiency across the team, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse.
  • Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities.
  • Understand performance parameters and assess application performance.

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience and hackathon coaching experience.
  • Hands-on proficiency in Web App Development, Python, APIs, Data Visualization and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience running hackathons and coaching teams on self-service automation tools (e.g. RPA, Tableau, Alteryx, Smartsheet, Microsoft products).
  • Experience making data-driven decisions, solving problems collaboratively and ensuring follow through.
  • Experience collaborating on high quality, maintainable code from prototyping to production environments.
  • Experience with code and project management tools (GitHub, Kanban, Visual Management).
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
  • Presentation and communication skills with both small and large audiences at different band levels (senior executives, directors, individual contributors).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field encouraged but not essential.

  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating effort and ROI.
  • Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trends.
  • Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices.
