Senior Technical Support Specialist
Location: UK Remote, Sweden Remote, France Remote or Dubai Remote

How will you make an impact
The Senior Technical Support Specialist will be part of the Customer Services Team, and will deliver high quality support to customers using the latest IT support systems. It will be important to collaborate as needed with other members of the distributed team, to ensure a timely response to customer's requests. You will also act as a guide and advisor for more junior team members.
What will you do
  • Responsible for investigating and resolving application software issues reported by our customers or our commercial partners
  • Incident ownership from receipt to resolution and closure
  • Alignment to procedures for elevating issues, and to customer service level agreements
  • Refer incidents to colleagues, other teams, or to Helpdesk management when required
  • Proactively build knowledge of new technologies as well as current products
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of short to midterm strategic plans to improve in helpdesk operations
  • Visit UK and international customers for on-site troubleshooting or customer training when required
  • Potential for travel up to 25% of the time to provide support and training at customers locations

Essential
  • Must have a solid grasp of Windows Operating Systems
  • A strong analytical/problem solving ability

Desirable
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Excellent Organisation, verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Able to communicate technical issues to an audience with varying technical abilities
  • Tenacious problem solver
  • Hardworking, positive, action orientated
  • Committed self-starter who seeks continuous improvement, organized with the ability to prioritize and copes well under pressure to meet timelines
  • Comfortable working independently but also a flexible and team orientated
  • Ability to travel if required
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) science or IT background
  • Programming skills in languages such as C# .NET
  • Knowledge of network architectures
  • Experience as a technical trainer, or demonstrable ability to disseminate technical information
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Mathematics, Life Sciences or another related field
  • Experience of providing technical support in the enterprise software arena
  • Grasp of relational database concepts (Oracle or SQL Server preferred)
  • Multilingual - Spanish German French Italian (any European)
