You will be working as a Service Engineer and will be a part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries Division based in Doha,Qatar. In this role you will be responsible to execute medium to high complex service jobs & projects with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines, deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. Also, proactively communicate with both customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for penetration and expansion.This position reports to

  • Perform medium to high complex service tasks for 800x A based system like installation, commissioning, maintenance, upgrades and retrofits, repair independently, identify technical problems and make analysis through remote or on-site activity in different service categories (installation and commissioning, maintenance, extensions, replacements, upgrades and retrofit, end of life service etc.).
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer order and expectation. Create and maintain a good relationship with customers and understand their needs. Identify new sales opportunities and take influence in convincing the client for the complete service portfolio.
  • Coordinate, prepare and ensure that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for service activities. Prepare standard lists for ease of work.
  • Prepare all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative. Report work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed. Create standards or job durations.
  • Proactively identify potential equipment failures and proactive corrective actions. Troubleshoot complex equipment failure and make recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
  • Proactively identify suggestions for product, quality and customer service improvement and discuss them with management for changes.
  • Actively ensures that HSE practices are of high standard. Work to eliminate unsafe practices and incidents.
  • Consistently apply functional processes considering links to other teams.
Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 6 to 8 years or work experience with minimum 6 years of experience as customer support or project or service engineer of system 800xA based control systems preferably in Oil & Gas or Power & Water industry.
  • Hands on experience in System 800xA based control system (both Hardware & Software) with AC800M library-based application development - project & commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Good hands-on experience in ABB Advant systems with AC450 controller-based application development, system installation and commissioning
  • Experience in ABB safety system AC800MHI & legacy system safeguard system is an added advantage
  • Hands on Experience in Industrial networking, network switch configuration, Cyber security for 800x A based systems / OT systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence both internally and externally.
