Job Description:
Under the line management of the Area Supervisor and technical direction of the Structures Maintenance
Supervisor, be responsible for all activities relating to earthworks (embankments & cuttings), Bridges,
Culverts, Retaining Walls and Support Structures for operational equipment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • To undertake technical visual examinations and report on findings.
  • To undertake annual visual examinations of structures reporting on condition and risk rating in
    accordance with standards
  • Undertake 3rd party interface management as part of asset protection procedure
  • Undertake on site surveys and produce remits and outputs specifications for remedial or new works
  • Review technical reports and drawings for approval and be familiar with the design and implementation
    phases of construction
  • Undertake audits and verification exercises relating to contractor works
  • Input risk and condition data into assert management data base
  • Take responsibility for the handover and handback processes to and from Project Teams and Works
    Delivery Team
  • Direct routine maintenance and minor repairs to civil engineering assets
  • Be on call engineer and respond to faults or incidents. Take technical lead in resolving issues
  • Check that safety, assurance, compliance, performance and business processes are followed.
  • Review and make recommendations from assessment and structural engineering reports for
    structures and earthworks
  • Undertake site surveys and produce report Write performance specifications and remits for
  • works to be delivered by major projects or minor works departments
  • Participate in, and lead as directed, engineering verification activities.

  • Experienced/Qualified engineer
  • Experienced/Qualified civil engineer
  • Have experience of working on behalf of the client in respect of new works
  • Experience of auditing
  • Have an awareness of asset management principles
  • Had experience of representing a client when schemes are project managed to completion
  • Have experience of managing others delivering work
  • Had experience of writing remits and proposals for delivery by others
  • Have experience of safety culture
  • To have read and approved engineering reports and taken action from them
  • Relevant experience required
  • To have experience of instructing other departments or organisations to do work
  • Have audit experience

JOB CONTEXT:

Supervisor, be responsible for all activities relating to earthworks (embankments & cuttings), Bridges,
Culverts, Retaining Walls and Support Structures for operational equipment.


COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS (ILLUSTRATIVE NOT EXHAUSTIVE):
Internal: Area Supervisor, Station and Depot Operations staff,, Structures Maintenance Manager and
Supervisors, Track and Signalling Supervisors
External: Third party interface under consent process,

FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES, & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:
  • Acting according SAR standards.
  • Provide the technical lead on structures and earthworks issues.
  • Encourage an awareness of the importance of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE)
    issues and good workmanship by regular communication with all staff and make all stall aware of
    SAR’s policies for reporting accidents/incidents
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & COMPETENCIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Civil or Structural Engineering qualification (5 years for diploma, 3 three years for bachelor)
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years’ experience of Civil or Structural construction and maintenance.

Desirable
Engineering management experience involving technical and business risk assessment
Knowledge of relevant legislation, industry and company standards.
COMPETENCIES:
Civil or Structural engineering application, reporting, planning and organizational skills
Languages: English very well written and spoken.
Requirements:
  • Joining Availability: Immediate
  • Valid & Saudi Transferable Iqama
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in Railway Industry.
