Job Description

The Technical Office Director is required to oversee the design, manage the design team(s), and develop and supervise design projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop Design Ideas. Develop strategic plans for the project, determining with the Senior Project Team how long it will take and what it will cost.
  • Work with the client to choose specific design elements for the project, and determine if text or additional elements should be included in the design.
  • Oversee and supervise Design Projects including managing staff members and monitoring projects to ensure they are moving forward on schedule and within budget.
  • Participate in Client Meetings to determine what they want from their project and what specific design elements they may wish to incorporate.
  • Review Feedback from clients, then design or alter projects to fit the client’s vision, brand, and business needs.
  • Analyse market research, customer reviews, and other material to create more effective designs.
  • Provides guiding direction and ultimate oversight of the Technical Office works. Works towards positive integration with the multiple functions to achieve an effective and cohesive working unit on the project.
  • Sets direction and goals for the DAR Technical Office Team including overall responsible for corporate quality processes for delivery of programme and construction management projects.
  • Work with DAR Al Riyadh Senior management team to recommend strategic initiatives, goals, and objectives and once approved, to implement them within risk profile acceptable to DAR Al Riyadh.
  • Responsible the technical performance of the Technical Office, including:
  • Compliance with the contractual obligations to the Client.
  • Reviewing and approving the Project Plan.
  • Provision of services and products to required quality, safety, environmental and sustainability standards.
  • Provision of service and products within risk profile acceptable to DAR Al Riyadh.
  • Resolving Client and project issues above Project Manager level and handling all liability issues.
  • ensuring remarks/comments for the Project Report have been resolved

  • Architectural, civil or structural engineer, having university degree from internationally recognized university.
  • 18 years minimum experience in his discipline of which 5-10 years in the same job title in similar projects, has experience in technical office, review of material technical submittals and design drawings.
  • Require a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
  • Graphic design expertise including BIM modelling software therefore also require excellent computer skills

  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written with proven Client interface skills are essential.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic (speaking, reading and Writing)
