Job summary
Amazon is seeking a creative, thoughtful and customer-obsessed user experience designer to help us define the future of Shopping Experience in the middle east. Your primary focus will be to create elegant and customer-focused designs that provide a superior customer experience working in close collaboration with business, product, technology, and design teams across locations.

In this role you will own designing components, features and programs through different parts of shopping experience and sellers experience. You'll rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences-from concept to execution. This position will work on overlapping projects, so strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task are critical. Amazon is a fast-paced and exciting environment which needs the designer to thoroughly collaborate with all partner teams.

Responsibilities:
. Support the creation of innovative design solutions to users, products, and business problems. Plan and prioritize design work across multiple programs and their projects.
. Design solutions based on user insights and business intelligence that contribute to the success of business objectives.
. Support product creation by developing design concepts (e.g., mock-ups, prototypes, models) for purposes of user research and testing. Collaborate with engineers to communicate and influence design intentions.
. Understand design constraints and clearly articulate design decision rationale to partners and stakeholders. Manage and deliver specifications for implementation. Lead contributions to a holistic design process and design system across teams.
. Apply best practices in design guidelines and building design systems.
. Collaborate with design and product by sharing design ideas, and propose initiatives to improve customer experience.
. Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, detailed visual mockups and prototypes.
. Communicate high-level design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors.
. Develop and maintain effective specifications and design patterns.
. Provide mentorship for designers and interns.

About the team
MENA UX is responsible for understanding and designing the shopping journey for Amazon customers in the middle east including AE, SA and EG. Our team owns the end-to-end shopping journey from discovery and evaluation of products and programs, to checking out and completing the purchase, to post-order experience such as delivery and returns. You will be joining a growing team which is a collaborative, creative and cohesive group of researchers and designers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

. At least 5 years of work experience in Interface Design, Interaction Design, or Information Architecture.
. A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and relevant, user-centered design solutions.
. An innate capacity for creating engaging, highly usable designs and layouts.
. Experience with designing end-user, web-based applications.
. Fluency in best practices for Information Architecture and Interaction Design.
. Ability to quickly turn around rigorous wireframes and mockups in an iterative environment.
. A strong awareness of common usability methods and principles.
. A lucid sense for how individual components and features impact their larger applications, and how to optimize accordingly.
. Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
. The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

. Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
. Experience creating style guides, pattern libraries, and other design solutions that drive design across large organizations.
. Excellent communication, presentation and persuasion skills demonstrated success in building buy-in for an innovative, bold, strategic vision.
. Ability to track, document and base UX decisions backed by both qualitative and quantitative data.
. Experience in driving and educating UX best practices with the larger team.
. Ability to lead and ideate products from scratch and improve features, all with a user-centered design process.
. Skills in communicating and influencing product design strategy.
. Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile (i.e. Android and iOS).
