Location:Goodrich Customer Services Inc., Rd 36-RM, Plot-S50604, PO Box 17698, Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone (South), Dubai, UAE
Purpose / Objective:
The selected candidate will be responsible for welding aircraft components using GTAW welding equipment in accordance with technical data by ensuring work is accomplished with high quality in a timely fashion and is compliant with all technical and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Weld, braze, a range of materials including Aluminum, Inconel, CRES, stainless steel and Titanium in accordance with technical data.
  • Be able to read and understandtechnical data with regards to use of tooling, selection of appropriate torch tips, filler rods and the selection of set prescribed amperage, gas flow, speed and feeds to obtain the desired weld.
  • Examine welds for bead , penetration, and other specifications.
  • Assist in training other production welders.
  • Plan and perform diverse hand and machine welding and associated metal joining for aircraft components.
  • Maintain materials, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Comply with all rules and regulations of Collins Aerospace, including, but not limited to: Environmental Health and Safety, Ethics, International Trade Compliance and Human Resources.
  • Complete assigned tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
  • Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.
  • When not welding the candidate will be required to support other maintenance activities in Components including (evacuation systems and AMS).

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum Experience: 3+ years of welding experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours and willingness to assist other departments as necessary.
  • Comply with EH&S policies and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate PPE. Attend EH&S training as required.
  • Report unsafe practices and/or conditions to the appropriate individuals to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
  • Recommend improvements to EH&S practices in order to create a safer workplace.
  • Candidate should be proficient in GTAW and TIG welding of several metal types.
  • The ability to perform the following welds:Grove to filet, sheet to sheet, tube to sheet.
  • The ability to interpret schematics and/or technical drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail in order to ensure safety and quality.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • The ability to work in a team to support work capacity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills in terms of typing, navigating screens and learning new software programs.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to take direction from more experienced coworkers, leads and supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Technical Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years of GTAW/TIG welding experience and experience welding thin Aluminum.
  • Compliance with D17.1 standard.
